Transplant Story

Tamaryn Stevens (kidney, Australia)

I was diagnosed with kidney disease as a child, receiving my first transplant when I was 13. My first transplant lasted me 14 years, but sadly failed in late 2019. I was lucky enough to receive a second kidney in 2020.

I found a love of cycling as a teenager, and have since taken up all kinds of cycling- road, track, cyclocross, and gravel.

Cycling is integral to my health, during both transplant journeys. Most importantly, it is a constant source of joy, friendship, and gives me space to appreciate the life I am living.
